Shakib Omrani

Shakib is a game enthusiast. He holds a bachelor’s degree in software engineering and is currently a graduate student of animation in Tarbiat Modares University.

He has been a teaching assistant in computer science and animation. He also has instructed the Toon Boom Storyboard workshop at the Tarbiat Modares University.
Shakib believes that students’ responsibilities are much more than getting grades and staying late in labs. He thinks university students should have an impact on their communities, whether through research or the services they provide. That is why he was an active member of the Academic Association of Animation Students at Tarbiat Modares University. He also helped the Islamic Azad the University of Damavand Branch reboot their basketball team practices.
Shakib’s research interest is mainly interdisciplinary. As his master’s thesis, he works on the application of artificial intelligence in the conceptual development of animation films. Also, he has developed a few projects in interactive storytelling and games.

First game jam experience. Shakib was the art director in this project. But as for many small teams, he needed to wear other hats and have additional responsibilities. The proposed theme of the game jam: “Smack the measures in the head and start the change. Make the dimensions of the universe fit your mind.”

An interactive story based on a play by Samuell Beckett

As early as Shakib started his first semester as an Animation graduate student, he wanted to make his screenplays interactive. It was not the focus of the courses at the university, so he decided to make this happen by himself.
